Formerly Ballet Nouveau School

Formerly known as Ballet Nouveau, City Ballet is a dynamic and inclusive training ground where dancers of all ages and backgrounds are empowered to grow—not just as performers, but as people. Our mission extends beyond technique; we are committed to nurturing the whole artist through discipline, creativity, and community.

At the heart of our programming is the City Ballet Studio Company, which provides dancers with exceptional performance opportunities both locally and internationally. Most recently, our company traveled to Paris and Portugal, offering our dancers the invaluable experience of performing and studying dance on a global stage.

Through thoughtful training, mentorship, and a deep connection to the art form, we help dancers evolve in confidence, artistry, and self-awareness. City Ballet is more than a studio—it is a home for aspiring artists to thrive, connect, and discover who they are both on and off the stage.

As Maryland’s premier training ground for aspiring dancers, we blend classical ballet tradition with innovative contemporary work. Our certified faculty, led by Managing Director Kristen S. Stevenson, provide a nurturing environment where students of all ages and levels can thrive. From early training to pre-professional development, our approach is holistic, focusing on healthy technique, artistry, and community engagement.
